Having Trouble with Attachments
« on: September 15, 2006, 10:24:04 pm »

Hi everyone,

I just posted on the Printers forum, and (thought I had) successfully attached an image file to illustrate a point I was making. After posting, I tested whether the image could be successfully opened from my post. I clicked on the thumbnail, but the new window that opened up just contained hex data!

I tried attaching a PNG first, then a JPG. Both display as hex. Image files were created in Photoshop CS2 / Save for Web.

Is the correct procedure to (1) attach the file (2) insert the attachment into the post --?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

Thanks for the info. I had tried to search this forum, but obviously couldn't find that thread.

Searching sucked.  It was easier to just browse through until I saw a thread subject I remembered....

http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....showtopic=11465

found a link to the bigger one ...

I'm surprised that if this bug isn't fixed that the feature isn't disabled.  I post my pictures to another server and then just post them inline.

This should (hopefully) now be fixed.  Tested in Safari, Firefox and IE ok.

It required some brute force header generation repair (they were doing some pretty bizarre things with the attachment headers like trying to force as inline downloads for some reason).  I reset it to something a little more sane.

If it adversely affects any other functionality or anyone has problems with viewing attachments please let me know.
