Rip advice needed

Wonder if you have any thoughts on this? I have a HP Z3200ps printer, and in an effort to get the best out of this amazing printer, I decided to buy a RIP, and after much debate I ended up going for PosterJet which is  made by a German company. In my naivety I expected this to work out of the box and coexist with the existing settings on the machine. Apparently not. The installed list of materials can be modified to match printer settings, but you have to purchase profiles (The first 3 are free and then it's approximately 30 dollars per profile). Also, there is no native job history within the application. I have to purchase a module at the cost of £300 if I am to be able to reprint something I made yesterday. The company use a world class photo-spectrometer and so I am assured of top quality output if i use their profiling service. The alternative is to purchase from them another module for profiling (£600 plus the equipment). Effectively to get where I need to be I have to double my investment. Would you go the extra mile, or would you purchase individual profiles? Now there's a question ...
