Exxy Bracket for GFX
« on: October 11, 2017, 12:55:41 am »

Hello,
Has somebody tried the Exxy bracket for gfx? This is a l shaped bracket arcs Swiss compatible and the side part could be removed to change the batteries of the gfx..

I don't know if the manufactoring qualities are good. I have seen it only on amazon..

Thank you.

Do you mean the Fotodiox L_Bracket?  That can also be purchased directly from them...

There is a guy from New Zealand on the GFX Facebook page who has purchased that one, cannot remember his name unfortunately..

Might be worth hunting him down and getting his opinion?

I took that comment to be from mere observation though, not an actual owner...

I could be wrong though :)

Maybe worth a try.

Currently I am using the RRS L-plate for GFX, which sucks big time! I bought dozens of products from Really Right Stuff over the years, but this is the first one where they failed. It has a sliding left side part, which can be slid by loosing a thumpscrew, but it needs quite an effort to do so as it tends to get stuck and then it only allows acces to the cable door. for access to the battery the whole plate has to be removed, but there is only a hex screw to do so and no hex key is included as it is with some modern RRS L-Plates, like the one for the A7r2.

this one is a total fail, an expensive piece of junk.

I'm using this, (yes I'm cheap :D) Desmond L bracket Considering all the issues that people are having with other brackets I figured why not try it.
Works ok unless you need to remove the battery, then you have to undo it.
