Canon 10d Problem
« on: September 10, 2006, 07:38:28 pm »

I have been shooting with my 10d for a couple of years now, I'd say I have taken 20-30 thousand pictures with it...today, something went wrong. while I was shooting, the camera stopped taking pictures...when I tried to view them with the play back, the lcd screne was black...as I brought up the information and histogram, the picture info was displayed on the lcd (the picture number, 1/1500, iso, etc) but still no picture and the histogram was blank...I was still able to bring up pictures taken earlier on the lcd and also view the details and the histogram but I was unable to take any more shots after that moment...I changed flash cards, lenses, shut down the camera, everything I could think of and still nothing...I have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it...

Could someone please shed some light on this for me and give me advice as to what I should do. Thank you for your time, Scott

Yes, the shutter is closing and opening as far as I can tell.  One thing that has changed is the sound that the shutter makes is a little softer than normal and the speed at which it closes seems to be slightly quicker...

One other thought around that.  Is the mirror getting out of the way?

Regardless, I suspect you've a date with canon service.
