Besides my other printer problems, lately I was using daily, Qimage ultimate solely for its unclog tool. You can schedule automated prints with patterns that keep your printer running inks in the print head. I did it daily with the half page. You can program one for each printer on the network. With that, the printer was never cleaning anymore when I start using it and I stopped turning it off and on weekly for a hard cleanup. (I was wasting lots of ink with this) With Qimage, no more, not even a little cleanup before printing! I suppose my printer would be lot more clean internally with such tool.
Another reason to use this software (to be investigated) is its claims to use full 16 bit driver for printing (so no need of Photoshop Canon print plug-in). It also claims to go behond printer memory and paper size limits by sending small chunks of data to the printer.
But for the 16 bit printing, maybe the Serif's Afinity software allows using the Canon PS print plugin.
