I could find neither reference nor reaction to Richard's site or work subsequent to his current article on Lu-La (sorry, Michael, just a short-cut) regarding carbon inks for black/white digital printing; I'd have imagined that even a brief peek into his world of pictures would have started some discussion in this space. Could be that I've just failed to find it, but I want to say: here, at last, that rare thing, a teacher who can also do.

Thanks for finding him for us. I was too lazy to google him myself, but since you provided links, I looked. He has gorgeous work, and for my money, what he does for me is Art (as discussed on another lengthy thread.)

Thanks for your replies - but I was just reflecting on the deafening silence on this forum after Michael introduced the Lohmann name in his What's New section of Lu-La; I'd fondly imagine that we would be snowed under with comment about the lovely work Lohmann clearly does, but this, strangely, didn't happen. I wonder why?

I'd already put the Lohmann site onto Favourites as soon as I saw the first few pictures - that instant recognition of talent/art that has been spoken about recently.

I quite agree. Perhaps some of the folks in Lu-La-Land are just too busy peeping their pixels or trying to define "fine art photography" to take the time to look at truly fine photography.

He's been in my 'favorites' for some time.  I found his comments interesting---but really find his work wonderful.  I would love to see some prints in person.

Hi

The Lu-La mention was the first time that I had come across the Lohmann oeuvre, so thanks to Michael for that!

Another guy who hit me with the 'at first sight' kind of recognition of talent is Waclaw Wantuch, again of the eponymous site. I found out about him for the first time via the Olympus site where some of his work features on the E-1 publicity stuff. He manages to do excellent cityscape atmospherics along with superlative figure work, again, mostly in wonderful black and white.

What a fantastic medium the internet can truly be; what a shame how some people go out of their way to ruin it.

Hello,
This the first time I´ve ever posted anything on this site even though I´ve been a member since 2004, it´s just that I prefer "Listening".
However after visiting Richard Lohmann site I just have to say what wonderful and totally inspiring images. Thank you Rob C, for your post.
