Will a Profoto battery pack go bad if not used regularly?
« on: September 06, 2017, 10:40:44 AM »

I have a Profoto Batpac that hasn't seen much use since I bought it, around 5 years ago.
I've used it maybe once a year. It has worked so far, but I'm not sure if it will go out sooner than it's supposed to.

Should I expect some decay in the battery life due to the little use?

The original Profoto bat pac uses sealed lead acid batteries. They have a long life if you keep them charged. If you're not using it the batteries will slowly discharge and may stop holding a charge if left to fully discharge. I'd charge it at least every 3 months even when not being used.
