P800 printed image size not accurate
« on: August 29, 2017, 09:32:20 pm »

Hello fellow printing buddies,
I cannot get the length of print set in Lightroom when printing to P800. I use an IMac and LR CC wireless connect to printer. When printing a 13x19" on roll canvas it comes out 13x18.875". A 1:2 crop set to 16x32" on roll canvas comes out 16x31.75". A 12x18" printed to 13x19" Luster comes out 12x18". For the canvas I set user defined paper size of 17x34". The prints look good but it bothers me the output size is off. Any thoughts are appreciated. Maybe my settings are wrong?

That seems correct check printable area in manual. I'm in a metric country and when quick converted on roll leading and trailing edge together is approx 61mm that's 2.25".
So 34-2.25=31.75" that makes your setting .25" shirt
Others you would have to check as I only have a metric manual online quick.

Looks like your problem is limited to the canvas so Printer may not be the culprit.  Doesn't canvas shrink after printing in the direction of the roll.  Mark two points on the canvas the image length apart and measure it again after printing.  Do they measure shorter?

It seems he's printing borderless on the canvas. And non borderless on the luster paper.
Borders are different for border and borderless check the manual for reference.
I told this before and I checked the manual on this but my manual is metric and in Dutch. So find English manual.

I was hopeful you were onto something but I tried increasing the Roll paper size to 17x35" with the same result.
Thanks

Not using the Borderless option just Roll Paper and Size settings for canvas and Size and Source for sheet paper
