Being behind the camera is one thing. Being in front of it is another. But how about being behind-the-behind-the-camera? In his latest expose on PhotoshopNews.com, Jeff Schewe (my former friend) has placed online a photo essay about the making of our latest project together, the Adobe Lightroom Beta 3 Video Training DVD.

In typical Schewe style he leaves no secrets hidden, baring all (or at least a lot). The truth (at least Jeff's version) is out there.

From the Home Page of Luminous Landscape Whats New.

WHAT THE? *scratches Head*

Either its a joke and I just dont get it.. quite possible - [Hay! Im Australian!]    And we live upside down anyway!
Or..
Its Serious.. in which case I would be pretty pissed someone posted images of my country house for the world to see.

either way.. I dont get it.. There was/is nothing informative about the photo story - just shots of Michaels private residence...

Im confused.....
Remember im Australian!

I do like this comment on the photo story from Schewe

Quote
"The DVD was shot in June at Michael’s “little cottage in the country” (well, that’s how he described it to me when he invited me)."

You may not get invited back Jeff   *chuckle*

There isn't much to "get". It's just a Jeff Schewe thing.

Jeff documents his travels related to his Photoshop / Lightroom / teaching activities with small photo essays and then posts them on PhotoshopNews. They're just for fun, and to help make the people behind the scenes a bit more "human".

He posts lots of similar stories there.

Hey, it's not like I didn't WARN YOU...

"The following is a photo story outlining the shoot. Note: it only has a bit of content regarding Lightroom but has more than a bit of humor mixed in with the photos."

What, are you expecting Life Magazine?

And no, I had full permision to take the photos in the first place...it's not like I posted the exact GPS location of Micheal's "country cottage" (his words...).

What can I say-after working for years in advertising photography where the art director told me what to shoot, now I get to decide what to shoot. You're under exactly zero obligation to look at it...

:~)

If you're serious about Lightroom, you can get to know the players in this story...

Nup - but being an Aussie I would have liked to know which Aussie wine you ordered - we have so many great labels here!

I was just really, really, really happy that there were no pictures of Jeff skinny-dipping in the lake.

To know him is to love him!

I enjoyed the piece and think Michael's got one nice place (I also like the dogs of course).

There is video of Jeff jumping in the lake, but you'll have to buy the training DVD to see it (if you dare).

Already on order.  Hopefully I won't have to send the women and children out of the room when I view it.

Hey, it's not like I don't have a swim suit on...we didn't do "skinny dipping" (between the 3 of us, none of us are "skinny").

I too thought Michael's rural retreat quite superb. From what I've read over time on LL Michael has succeeded because of a combination of photographic talent and sheer business acumen. This leads me to suggest that a DVD tutorial on how to combine these fields would prove very popular!

I liked Jeff's behind the scenes.  It gives you a feel for the real personalities behind the DVDs.
