Glencoe's Sisters
« on: August 20, 2017, 02:56:19 am »

Glencoe's "Three Sisters" are a majestic series of three peaks on the south side of the Glen. You can see two of them in this photo.

Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm, Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Filters. Thanks for viewing, best regards

Amazing picture! Although the clouds are very dark it somehow fits, probably because of the not so saturated colors.

A wonderful shot from my backyard!  The dark cloud treatment is appropriate for Glencoe.  The weather and light changes so quickly in this fantastic Glen.

Nice and colourful. 8) The clouds look pretty omnious.

Gorgeously moody. I was last in Glencoe in 1992…hope to go back again.

The heavy sky goes hand in hand with the Scottish landscape.
Another beauty, bravo!

A most appropriate interpretive, evocative landscape. Nicely done. See, folks, it doesn't need to be as it really was to be effective!

Spectacular. The last time we were in Glencoe was a Sunday at the end of May, the sun was shining and the north bound traffic towards Fort William was solid - luckily we were heading south on a roundabout route from the Orkneys back to Bristol.

Those clouds seem a little over-cooked. Otherwise, superb stuff

Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed it and that you found the mood created by the relationship between the color palette and luminosity satisfying :)

Lovely.

Thank you very much Eric! :)

Thank you very much indeed, you are lucky living in such a wonderful location! Yes indeed, weather and light are ever-changing, and the ominous clouds fast left room to a dense fog (low cloud) and then to heavy rain... we just got back down in time before getting drenched! ;)

Nice and colourful. 8) The clouds look pretty omnious.

Thank you very much! Indeed they were, we nearly got drenched (see above) :)

Gorgeously moody. I was last in Glencoe in 1992…hope to go back again.

Thank you very much Terry! I completely agree with you - I see photography as an interpretation of reality, like a musician with a score; I try to represent feelings rather than create descriptive images of what a place exactly looked at a moment in time - I frankly find that a bit boring... ;)

Thank you very much Dave, glad you enjoyed it! :) Yes, I try not to go to the Highlands / Skye after Easter... nowadays they seems to be more crowded than a shopping mall before Christmas!

Those clouds seem a little over-cooked. Otherwise, superb stuff

I guess it is just a matter of taste Bill, I kinda like them as they are but I totally appreciate that not everyone will feel the same about them :) Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed it (clouds aside)!

Best regards,
