Import Settings

My husband's lightroom is a mess. Whenever he imports something it goes by date into his pictures folder (Windows 10). He has a million folders called 2016, 2017 etc. I've unchecked every setting I can think of and it still does this.  I want to set it up like mine where I copy the photos into the folder I set up on my hard drive, then I go to Lightroom and import that folder where it is so that the place I put it is the place it is in in Lightroom.

In the Import screen, in the Destination panel on the right, your husband has the Organize: option set to "By Date". Change this to "Into One Folder"
