I think you're right to go from Watendlath, Ken. There is a boggy stretch but it's crossed by stepping stones. Afterwards you may not want to go back the same way, so I suggest Birkett's Leap - it's on the Watendlath-Rosthwaite path and offers great views all the way up Borrowdale. You may have been there on your way down from King's How, though it does sound like you used one of the less-touristy paths!

You used "chocolate box" earlier, last year I thought Dock Tarn was "chocolate box plus Kendal mint cake plus shortbread biscuits". Good luck ( grrrrr :) )

Thanks for the comments, they always help. Note to self again "do not process shots on laptop".  Bill only 1/2 stop ND grad in photoshop applied to sky but this was on top of soft 2 stop real ND grad and polariser. I had however applied a very strong vignette to the very top of the sky. I have also brightened the entire thing making it look a little less dramatic but much more believable ( to my eyes). Ken

Much improved.

Thank you Chris for that bit of fellow feeling and sympathy for a sufferer from 'Nostalgia Senex'.

Fabulous image.  I do prefer the second version, plenty of drama for me there

Wonderful scene. I think that 1/2 stop(?) or so brighter helps. Kudos.
