First Roll of Ektar Through My Fuji 6x9
« on: August 12, 2017, 08:15:11 pm »

Last week I had a cousin come visit me.  I showed him around some of my favorite places, one of which was Rocky Mountain National Park.

Now, I always have some sort of camera with me when I go out hiking.  This time I took my new (to me) Fugi G690 medium format camera.  I decided to load up a roll of Ektar 100 for the hike.  This is my first color roll I've shot through the camera, I've only shot 3 rolls total through it so far, all black and white.

Anyway, today I developed the roll at home using a Unicolor C41 chemical kit.  I just finished scanning them in and adjusting them to my taste (mostly just some contrast adjustments).

I normally shoot in black and white, but I am definitely going to be running some more rolls of color through this camera!

Here they are.

Nice range of tones in these images.

How did you scan these?

I notice some unevenness particularly in the sky corners where there is magenta/blue cast.  Is this caused by the film processing or light leak in the scanner?

Pretty cool you are processing at home.  I used to shoot a Horseman VHR, but usually stuck with Velvia.

Film flatness issue maybe… I like Ektar. A friend has been using it (120 format) a lot lately.

Nice! Is the process much different from b&w?
