H accessories question
« on: August 10, 2017, 12:37:02 pm »

Hi,

I've been shooting to card but recently decided to tether more. I find my neck strap hit the firewire cable in a way I don't like. Two q's - other than the official wrist strap have people found a good (less expensive) alternative? Any success with right angle firewire cables other than the one sold for the H5D? I have an aversion to buying expensive cables (too many years doing my own audio cable work makes me reticent to overspend on cables... or apparently straps for that matter).

Thanks

CustomSLR M plate with hand strap attachment and any normal wrist strap?  I use to recommend the CarrySpeed plates, but they're not in the USA anymore.

I always tether with the neck strap on. I have never seen a problem using the standard attachments.
Firewire cables are in way higher frequencies than audio cables. They can easily be damaged by excessive bending or running over by a chair etc. i just use a short cable normally straight to a MacBook Pro.

RRS L plate with QD strap allows very quick strap removal/attachment.
