It's a new system, so there aren't legacy "budget lenses" out there as there are with the Hassy and Phase systems. There are currently only 5 lenses for the system, and the least expensive is the 63mm at $1,500

If you can find one in stock I would consider the 32-64. A excellent lens.

for whatever reason, amazon has the GFX for 700$ off right now....
32-64 is an amazing lens, not budget of course but covers a lot.....
i have tried several adapters and older MF glass....fun to use and makes sense if one owns older glass, but the fuji glass is so much better then most other options (and AF works really well considering the sensor size)

An alternative approach if you don't need AF is to pick up a Fotodiox or Kippon Mamiya 645 adapter and then any number of MF M645 lenses for a pittance. The 80/1.9 is a special lens but any of the full manual lenses (with aperture control) will work.

Agree on the Fuji lenses though. 32-64 and 23 are excellent but hardly inexpensive unless compared to Phase One blue ring lenses ...

One other note, the 63mm and the soon to be released 45mm do NOT have a Linear Motor and are both slower and louder with AF.  The difference is quite noticeable.  Still am surprised Fuji choose to do this as the optics are very good on the 63mm.

For a lot of good reading, look up Jim Kasson's blog as he has written a lot on the GFX and it's all free, and very well written.

That was fast!

indeed.

Hate to say this, but discounts often, (but not always) precede a model update...

It's a little soon for the GFX 100S, I think.
