CorelDraw 9 Error message
« on: July 25, 2017, 11:43:13 am »

I'm working with CorelDraw 9. I've been working on something for two months, it is 987Kb.
Just when I was finishing the project, the file became corrupt.
It upens up to 40% and then I receive the message "Error Reading myfile.cdr file".
I tried importing it to a new cdr, it gets 74% done and then gives me the error message. When I click on accept, I receive an error message that says that it cannot import an empty document. I can see it in the preview box, though.
I need a Corel programmer that could maybe open the file code and repair the problem.
Can you help me?

Hello,  I will be your expert today.)
Were you able to copy the file to the CDR without errors?
Thank you.

“I don't understand the question. What is to copy a file to CDR??” - It IS a coreldraw file.
I transferred my corel document to a pendrive and to other computers, and I could not open it in any computers that had Corel 9 installed.
In all instances I receive the error message.
But in all instances I can preview the plan in the little box to the right.
To the suggestion of a CorelDraw forum I downloaded Corel X5, and was not able to open the file either, although in the preview box I still saw my plan.
That is why I think I need a programmer, to look inside the code.
When I try to open the file, I can see the mini plan in the preview box, which leads me to think the file still exists, but in code.-
Hope this is informative so you can help me.

Import the Corel Draw File (File then Import) to see if it opens with Inkscape.

Inkscape is a open source and free application that can work with CDR files.

If the issue is not solved try use an application called "CorelDraw Recovery Toolbox"  for recovery corel draw file and try restore file. http://www.oemailrecovery.com/coreldraw_recovery.html

Take the recommendations on the site. http://howto.corel.com/en/c/How_To:_Recover_Corrupted_CDR_Files
