I'd characterize it as perspective limitation rather than speculation. In the short term we have managed to reduce, if maybe not "rein in," our aggressiveness and its consequences. To a degree anyway. Will this continue in the longer term? People may conjecture or guess or believe various things but no-one knows. What the future almost surely won't be is more of the present, which is in part another way of saying "selection processes…are always at work."

TBH a lot of the landscape photography I come across might as well have been made by AIs. (IMO, of course.) Maybe photorobo 'scapers will free us all up to be more artistic in our approaches.
