Lightroom CC 2015.12
« on: July 19, 2017, 06:20:15 am »

Hi,

New version of Lightroom, 2015.12 (they jumped version .11 so Camera RAW and Lightroom have the same end number). New camera support and bugfixes only... in theory it inclused target adjusment fix (commented in this forum), but I have not tested it (I will wait for more adventured people... I'm still at .8 or .9)

More details: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2017/07/lightroom-cc-2015-12-now-available.html

Regards,

David

Thanks for the notice, David.

Fixing the TAT would be very welcome!  I'll update this evening.

The other big problem it resolves is in Map, eliminating the "Map Offline" message caused by Google.

Ok, I got a bit wrong the number thing, for clarification:

Quote
What happened to 2015.11 / 6.11?

You’re not missing anything… there wasn’t a 2015.11 / 6.11 release. Lightroom uses the Camera Raw engine, so the version numbering is closely tied. The next Camera Raw release would have been 9.11, but out of respect for the tragic events that unfolded on that date, Adobe decided to skip that version number.

I look forward to confirmation the TAT bug has been fixed.  I'll wait a few days before updating though to see what new bugs they may have introduced.

Ditto ... While I welcome any and all updates,  it's always best to allow the pay-to-play beta testers go over the update first.

No, it clearly states under the update notice for Camera RAW 9.12:

What happened to Camera Raw 9.11:

We skipped version 9.11 due to unfortunate events that happened on that day.

Another change is handy for CC users who share photos/shoots via LrMobile.

I wrote up the change here but the big deal was that if you ever tried sharing photos from https://lightroom.adobe.com/, you could only get feedback if the other person had an Adobe account. Now people can sign in using their Facebook or Google IDs, which are obviously much more convenient. It's a small change but it makes it so much easier to use LrMobile for a light client proofing workflow.

And the map module seems back to normal.

Is it my imagination, or is the develop module a bit quicker, more responsive, snappier?

Mike, my TAT tool works as it should now as well.

Develop Module snappiness is something I can't tell as I just updated to a 27" iMac that's loaded and my 6 year old 21.5" iMac sits on a workbench.

I did notice from a performance perspective though that even with the fastest CPU, 40 GB RAM, an SSD and the biggest video card I can still bring the Develop Module to a crawl with a LOT of brushing adjustments.

LR is finally returning to normal.

Interesting, what you mention about your iMac and the performance when using the brush adjustments a great deal.  I've heard Jeff make mention of something like that in one of the tutorials.  So even your very powerful iMac can be affected.  Interesting.

My iMac is ancient by computer standards, a mid 2011 27" i3, but I won't upgrade since it still handles my files fairly well.  Only time the spinning beach ball rotates seemingly forever is when I start LR and switch to the develop module for the first time.  Seems as if the software is trying to understand what the heck the operator wants!  All subsequent module switches are (relatively) quick.

I did wonder that myself, not done a lot of editing since updating LR but it did seem a bit snappier with a few I've done.

I was "stuck" in Lr CC 2015.9 due to all these bugs of the last time, but now I decided it was time to upgrade. I think that it works much better and even some problems with sliders, anchors, etc are fixed! Very happy!

Just upgraded yesterday and worked on a few images. All seem well with no issues.

I had expected Adobe to have rolled out a few new features by now. Rather disappointing. I would like to see their feature road map,

I think they are still focusing on LR Mobile because that's where they added some new features, rather good actually.

John, it's hard to see any new "features" in the latest release...
