« on: July 09, 2017, 05:15:23 am »

My apologies in advance, but this was a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence:

Images taken from the deserts of CA this spring (Anza Borrego & Joshua Tree National Parks) ... enjoy  :)

All right, I guess that's enough.

I hope nobody gets mad at me for posting so many pretty flower photos :D

Some wonderful shots, but Joshua Tree (portrait) is my favourite.  The balance of the bokeh of the receding flowers is perfect.

Great set of images, looks like an amazingly no time to experience. I really like the last three or four labeled Joshua Tree

Thanks for the comments.

March and April were wonderful times to hike our CA deserts ... flowers materializing with every new visit ... didn't get too hot (could hike for hours).

Now? No flowers ... and you have maybe 2 hours of light before you feel like you're in an oven ;D

seems like a wonderful occasion to document. I like some of the close-ups, but I find the light too harsh and uninteresting in the "landscape" ones.

Great set, Jack.
One of my favorites is #2192 from Joshua Tree. I like the way the shape of the flowering bush echos the shape of the background rocks.

Yeah, most of them are snapshots ... not trying to pass them off as "art" ... just nature photography.

Agree, the light in many is harsh; agree again they're not "art-worth"; disagree they're uninteresting.

Just pretty snapshots to share and enjoy ... and I wanted to prove I could post something besides bug pics :)

Will make sure I post only a jaw-dropper next time ;D

Just to clarify, as sometimes the meaning can be lost over the interwebs:)

- I did not mention anything about "art".
- I said the light was uninteresting, not the subjects themselves.
