blurring a background in C1 10

In photoshop it is relatively easy to blur a part of an image  Is that possible in Capture one by using a local adjustment to select an area or some other method??

Hi Roger,

C1 does not have a blur function like PS has. AFAIK the best you can achieve is an adjustment layer with -100 for Clarity and structure.

I also think it's the best way to achieve a kind of blur.
This is a powerful method to "clean up" skin, if you want/need a perfect (plastic) skin look.
But I don't find it useful to make some parts "out of focus".

Some other methods of achieving a blur effect that I've occasionally used in LR, but should apply to C1 as well...  Is adding [maximum] noise reduction, and maybe trying out negative contrast - although the latter, IIRC, may sometimes strangely do the opposite.  Depending on the area, I think I also might have played around with reducing exposure/higlights a bit, but it's been a while since I've tried blurring effects.  Reducing vibrance/saturation a bit may also help.
