This superb field lens was purchased just over 1 year ago (2/19/16). It is a phenomenal, Otus-quality lens. This 300mm lens, and its function, are indistinguishable from a new lens at $5,500 at B&H. If you've only shot standard lenses, or even high-end zooms, the image quality of the 300 VR II will blow you away. It is on another level.
The hood has some dings on it (see photos), but the lens itself is wonderful.(All dust is external, not internal.) Why am I selling it? Because I want to upgrade to the Nikkor 800mmE FL ED on a D5.
Doubles as a macro lens ... takes better butterfly shots (with an extension tube) than a dedicated macro lens. (Check my Flickr Images out:
