Errors have been detected in the file.

This is my first post so here goes: I urgently need to open .AI extension file. But when i try to open it with the help of Adobe Illustrator this message pops up: Errors have been detected in the file.
Can anyone advise what could have caused this?

file corruption is most often the cause - lots of things can cause that

Would be good to know how the file was created, which version etc. and which version you're using to open it.  Have you tried opening it in PS instead?

Reset the settings, workspace and preferences in illustrator to the defaults. Also you can try online service. Upload the file and your will recover .ai file data https://onlinefilerepair.com/en/illustrator-repair-online.html
