Lamp and window light...series, sort of...

Compositionally, I like this one better.

Quite bold of you to photograph something we all don't think twice about. You have to enlarge the image to see the wispy parts and get a sense of the feathery light clouds and natural colour sky.

True, it's a minimalist photo. And it's easy to overlook a thumbnail.

Yes Mike, it looks minimalist to me. Usually I don't bother to nitpick, but the non-level bottom left brick line really draws attention to itself at the expense of your nice abstract. I think minimalism in photos has a lot to do with overall look and feel and what it conveys and less to do with simplicity of subjects. What is here: white and black and grey and lines and shapes. But it is the quality of light and how these elements interact that makes the image better than bland simplicity.

Hi John, thanks for the supportive comments. I agree that uneven line catches the eye but the vertical line is vertical and I'm not sure how I would square that circle :)

I also agree that simplicity is an intent and not always content.

Use the 'distort' tool (usually with the transform tool). Pull down the right side until it looks level. Then you may have to pull up the top right to make it level. That should do it and not affect the verticals.

I think it's worth trying John's suggestion. The photo is so close to perfect as it is.

I see you your eyes always open, Russ. If you get my meaning. At first I was was very critical of the oblique line (wood panel) running into the corner. But then I reduced the size of image and presto the image fit on my screen and the line was above the corner. It is a good pattern-abstract shot. Razor sharp too.

I know you are feeling frustration at not being near enought to the city to do Street photography on a daily basis.
But your eye is obviously doing a great job of finding excellent subjects that are out of your preferred comfort zone.

Keep 'em coming!

Trying to figure out the orientation here - what are we looking at?  It's a cool composition but for the life of me I can't figure out if it's inverted, a strange tile wall, or a weird floor/shadow interaction.  :)
