Where is the "Review" of the Epson P5000 ?
« on: May 23, 2017, 05:17:09 pm »

After reading LL would be evaluating and writing a review of Epson's p5000 17" printer, I have been checking daily for it to appear. My typing fingers are getting shorter and shorter. I even went so far as to email the new owner and he was kind enough to inform me the reason the review is late is because there were "issues" with the printer. Well, it seems to me that issues with the printer is a story on the review itself that needs some print, and, while we're still young. I may otherwise have to appeal to the lovely new bride to kick some hinders there in Indy.

Mark has been working hard on the review.  I'm sure he will respond but we are very close to having it ready.  There is a lot of work that goes into a review and especially one with so many technical aspects. Mark is very thorough and has been working with Epson on some of the aspects of this review making sure we share accurate information.  You'll see the review here as soon as it is ready.

Do save your fingers! You'll need them for printing! :-)

Very pleased you are interested. Stay tuned - won't be too long from now. Kevin's response just above is correct.

Please let us know how the output from the Epson P5000 compares to the Epson P800 and the Canon Pro 1000. There are many readers who are interested to stepping up to printer like the P5000 if there is a noticeable improvement in print quality. Thank you.

While awaiting the review you may find it useful to read my article published yesterday on extended grayscale testing, as this will figure in the forthcoming 5000 review.

The P5000 use the same ink formulation as other SureColor Printers. The P800 uses eight inks while the P5000 adds on orange and green for 10 cartridges. While its a different ink formulation its the same colors used in the old 7900 and 4900. Steve
