Hollywood Walkway, Noonday Light.
« on: May 22, 2017, 10:55:22 am »

Haven't been shooting too much lately, too busy at my real job, so I thought I'd stroll throught the back catalog and process things I've never touched before.

Love it!

Thanks!

What was driving me crazy was trying to align the two vertical walls and realizing I just had to pick one (the right hand one) and go with that.  They both couldn't be perfectly straight.

I've just opened your image in Lightroom & straightened all the verticals using the Guided Upright Tool.

But I wouldn't worry about it - it's great as it is.

Thanks!  And I'll have to look into that tool.

Do I understand correctly that it's only for the CC?

I'm one of those oddballs who still uses the software native and loaded onto my computer.

It's a great shot. I think I'd prefer it without the white triangle on the right-hand edge, but I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong.

I don't blame you for not going the subscription route.

I think the Guided Upright Tool is CC only but the Crop Tool in PS will get you pretty close. ( Check the 'Perspective' box in older versions or use the Perspective Crop tool in more recent ones ).

It's fine as it is though: I'm one of those oddballs that needs perfect verticals in an image - like the real world is anything like that.

I wouldn't get rid of the white triangle on the right-hand edge, but I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong.  :D

OK, Jeremy. Just because you asked: "You're wrong."    :D

Second that. Love the image. Without the small triangle, overall balance will be lost. Right now it has wonderful tension and play between the lines, colours and shapes and contrast of tones, and betwen the open space and the few minimal shapes.
