Field Monitor with HDMI

hi, I want to find an inexpensive field monitor with good color reproduction to tether my canon 5dmk4 to with an HDMI cable for the sole purpose of reviewing images with client while out in the field. I repeat, viewing only, not saving files to it. Right now I am using my BlackMagic 5" video assist but its too small. Looking for something at least 7 inches or bigger and that can use portable rechargeable batteries. Any reco's?

I have not, I picked up a used one from LensRentals back in the day, and it does what I need (but isn't even HD).  The trick is to balance the features and price.  There are more expensive ones, and they'll have better color, but will it be enough?  Is HD enough image quality to convey what you're looking for?

Depending on your client & price point, honestly, I'd consider shooting tethered with a Surface Pro on your hip.  That way you get a higher dpi screen, with greater than HD resolution, plus the ability to zoom and stuff.

To take it to the next level, CaptureOne Pro is your friend, especially when you can setup an adhoc wifi network and hand your client an iPad with Capture Pilot to follow along on the shoot, so you can immediately adjust a scene or shot without the constant back and forth with your gear.  CamRanger or EyeFi might also work, but that's a client interaction & workflow type decision.

Thanks for the replies. my price range is about $250-$500. If I spent more I would most likely get the Blackmagic VA 7" used for about $750.

I prefer a workflow where I shoot to two cards in camera and keep the files there, and just run a HDMI cord to the camera when needed for client review with no network connectivity hassles.

Anything Marshall is good and reliable, with different battery options.  Usually Large Sony L batteries.

I just bought the iPad Mini 4 and am hoping to use this as the field monitor. All of my searching tells me that my HDMI cable will not work with the iPad to view the camera playback. Does anybody know if there is a USB solution? Like using the Lightning/USB adaptor from Mac, and connecting the tow with a USB cable and then downloading some sort of App to view it all on the iPad?

I have tried the wifi with the canon app loaded on the iPad, it works well sometimes, but I need a solution for when it doesn't work and I need to view on the iPad.

iPads are not able to be used as a field monitor.  There is no HDMI or VGA capture ability. 

Some cameras can stream their live view video via wifi to their app, but that's camera dependent.
