Ice in the Bay
« on: May 12, 2017, 05:32:34 pm »

These are from about a month ago.  The ice pack was pushed into Conception Bay by persistent NE winds bringing some seals and even a couple of polar bears a way up the coast.  Here it is retreating back out of the bay.  The ferry in the 2nd shot was stuck in ice over night before the ice breaker could break it out.

Fine images, both.

Particularly the second: lovely soft colours.

Ice in the bay is such a foreign concept to me, that while I find the images interesting, if we ever get this kind of ice in the bay, we're all pretty much at the end of the end. It's hard to fully appreciate.

Thanks all for the comments.

Chris - Not all of us live in Florida.  I expect there are enough sunbirds from up our way as it is.  :)
