P800 stops during printing
« on: May 06, 2017, 04:06:18 pm »

Does anyone have a solution to try?

I am printing from LR CC 2015.9 [ 1106920 ] under Windows 7 with the Epson SureColor p800. I have made a number of prints with no problem and then Problem ... Now, printing begins as usual and roughly half-way through the printer hangs. Looking at the print queue tool shows that printing has stopped with error A00027. Restarting causes the unfinished print to flush.

I recommend you call Epson Technical Support. It's normally free (at least here in North America).

How is your Windows 7 computer connected to the printer?

Wi-Fi. Worked fine for months.

Spoke to Epson support. Verified WI-Fi set up. Printed test page. Failed to print photo, just before it finished- Print error reported.
Epson suggested reverting to USB or direct ethernet/LAN connection. Will try USB unless you have another suggestion or insight. This requires uninstalling software and repeating the installation without Wi-Fi.

Wifi is susceptible to noise and interference in some environments.  I don't know if that affects your environment.  If you're in a densely populated area it's a possibility.

Going the USB or ethernet route would be a worthy endeavor vs continuing to print half prints.

While the USB route would be more stable, I'm not sure that WiFi is the issue here. Once the file is spooled to the printer, it resides in printer memory, gets printed from there and the WiFi connection ceases to be important. I am inclined to surmise that only if WiFi failed during that very short spooling transfer would it be the culprit. Nonetheless, just for surety I think Ron's suggestion is a good one. It's no big deal to remove and reinstall a printer driver.

Microwave ovens are a big source of 2.4ghz wireless interference. Do you happen to reheat your coffe or heat up a snack while waiting for your prints?

My experience with printing over wifi was exactly the same as your problem. It did work for a while and stopped so not sure what the problem was but using USB has fixed it for years. Two devices talking over any network require handshaking responses if they don't get them then they can just stop. Printers seem to be more susceptible to throwing up the hands. Browsing etc may be fine.

Yes, so far USB connection has done the trick. I have been able to make several prints, with no failures.

Thanks to all

I'm glad to hear that you're back printing without incidents again.
