Yes indeed they are very powerful images - what is more they achieve that without apparent artificiality or hardly credible over processing. I would be very proud of these not sad - unless there is some back story known only to the maker of the images.

A halo of some sort. It's sad because I lost about 90% of all my images from 3 months in NZ. This is not even close to the best shots I had from this spot. Still nice, but what I really want are my astro shots from here.

Yes Maddogmurph I think we all would be sad with that back story - one which I , and I suspect, many of us live in fear of from time to time  - sympathy with that.
