Most of the time, I don't like high key photos.

But these are really wonderful.

Nice and different. My only comment is that I don't like to see some of the birds cut in half at the edges of the frame.

I just hope the photographer was dressed as warmly as the swans.

Impressive shots.

Thank you, Thierry, Paulo and Eric.

Thierry - I hear you. In this instance, nature served up this scene.

Eric - Yes, I was suitably accoutred. More important, my friend Börkur knew where to stop/park, and how to orient the car (into the wind and away from incoming) so that I could mostly shoot out of the window. Just before these images, we almost had a head-on collision with a car driving bang in the middle of the road in zero-visibility conditions (nationality of said tourist left as an exercise to the reader :-).

Not me! Not me! I wasn't anywhere near there.

That driver was probably busy texting to a friend about how bad the driving conditions were.

Eric,

In the video at 00:18 you can see the brief section of the Ring Road that still remains unpaved - the Icelandic Road administration has left it that way for now as a nod to the original route.

That's an impressive (and scary) video.
But even the unpaved section is cleared of snow better than we get around Boston.

-Eric

P,S. I will soon post some of my snapshots of the "original" Ring Road.

That is some pretty crappy weather right there.  And I'm from Canada. :)

Excellent hand holding , Rajan.  Doggone phones are killing the camcorder industry now.

Superb work on both formats!

Peter - Thanks. The iPhone 7 has very good image stabilization.

Eric - Looking forward to your Ring Road photos from the 1970s.

Rajan,

I have posted a few snapshots over in the Landscape Locations thread.
