Pink Canyons
« on: April 26, 2017, 08:50:28 pm »

The Valley of Fire. Even in April the temps exceeded 90 degrees and of course we were soaked in sweat. Our first trip to this labyrinth of reds and yellows, textures and sand. This is a place that does not belong on earth, ephemeral and ancient. And we loved it. We loved it despite the heat or the threat of rattlesnakes or poison lizards. There was and is wonder in the desert, where going around a bend just brought awe...pink canyons.

But... But... you missed the best walk to the fire wave!! That little stretch of land is incredible! Especially at night with some moonlight.

I'll bet but my wife will be long gone. Her rule in the Spring/Summer is if she can't see her feet in the desert we've been there too long!
