Is Lightroom still using SQLite 2.0? Version 3.0 - the standard since 2004 - supports multiple concurrent connections. Direct use of a networked database can be problematic, particularly on OSX. We use SQLite for internal tracking, but it takes care to release database locks ASAP as writing to the database can only occur when no other user has even a read lock active.
