Soft proofs aren't accurate
« on: April 24, 2017, 03:23:57 pm »

I'm at a dead end on this. Not sure what else to try but my lightroom soft proofs are just way off the actual prints. I'm managing colors in light room. Printer color mgmt. set to none. Epson Stylus Pro 4800.
Using an icc profile I got from pixel genius for Epson exhibition fiber paper.
All of my ink cartridges are brand new. Nozzles are all clean. The only thing I can think of is that it's a bad icc profile but I tried different profiles on different papers and it's still not accurate.
Currently I have a series of beach sunset photos from Costa Rica that all have very orange sunsets but the printed version has a much lighter sky and the orange is more yellow. I hope someone can help on this because I really don't know what else to check.
Thank You

Well I finally figured it out. Sometimes the last thing you think of is maybe one of the first things you should've checked.
My previous ink cartridges sat for months in the machine unused so when I changed all of the cartridges, I should have done a power cleaning to purge out all of the old ink.
Did that and all is good now so I'll stop whining for awhile.
Carry On!
