Just a quick one from my smart phone during the week when I was at Uluru (I was at an event and having the real camera wasn't practical unfortunately as cloud there isn't that common).

From a couple of nights ago. Mosquitoes were thick but I was all covered up complete with gloves and a net over my head.
I was hoping for light to break through and light up the alfalfa tops but instead we got this very purple sunset.

Sunset last night. I love it when there's backlit virga this time of year.

I've no idea what virga is, but it looks pretty good to me

Thanks. It's rain that evaporates before it hits the ground. We get it a lot here in the summer.

I'm pretty sure I was there in 2004, but the light wasn't nearly as good.
Lovely!

A couple during sunrise last weekend. I'm hiking a lot of peaks and sleeping at altitude when I can in preparation for a bigger trip later in the summer.

Thanks! It's my favorite setting for landscape shooting. Sunrise on a mountain. Hard to beat!

Thanks Matt. I remember getting my film back from the lab wondering if this exposure worked. It was a five stop grad on the sky to hold detail in the shadows. Patagonia is a great spot to shoot. I kind of prefer the northern Patagonia area for the diversity of shots and lack of people compared to Torres del Paine NP. Interestingly, Mountain Hardware licensed this image from me for a catalogue.
