CO 10 add right click option on OS (Windows 7)
« on: April 17, 2017, 04:18:03 am »

I've just upgraded to v10 and found that CO 10 has now added an extra option to the right click menu across all folders on my OS (Windows 7).
I find that unnecessary and unwanted. Surely this should be an option ?
Secondly; Is it desirable that the recycle bin can be set as a capture or output folder ? that strikes me as a bit daft.

Any easy way to loose the option ?

Hi,

Yes, it's annoying and has been so for quite a while (AFAIK on Win 7 and Win 10). I've sent a support request to have it removed a long time ago, but it's still being added. All I can suggest at this moment is to add your request for removal by creating a support ticket, to get the issue higher on their list of priorities.

For the time being, you can try to remove the "context sensitive menu" item by hand or use an application that does it for you. Instructions can be found e.g. here:

Well, people do the daftest things, and maybe there is even a scenario where that could be useful, but I think it is not intended to be a context sensitive option for the recycle bin. That's why I requested the support folks to remove that when doing an upgrade/update installation.

Cheers,
Bart

I looked at sites like that before posting. Phase have hidden this well in the registry and I haven't found a way to remove it so far.

It is actually very simple. Just go to Edit-Preferences and uncheck "show item in folder context menu" in the Windows Explorer Integration section (General Tab) as in the attached picture

Once you've spotted that it is a scrollable window <d'oh>.

Thanks.
