Creating a "dry" darkroom
« on: August 07, 2006, 11:36:55 pm »

Hi folks.

I'm creating a digital darkroom so to speak for my digital workflow.

I have a great small room in my new home that I want to convert to a room similar to what Pikto has.  The right colour walls, the correct light temps etc.

The room also doubles as an announce booth as I'm a professional voice over talent in Toronto.

I have fabric to go over acoustical panels that will be behind my monitor(s) that is as close to the gray card as possible..martched in outdoor light.

Now I need to know if there are spoecific paint colour numbers...as it's really hard to match samples in stores with the large halogen lights..

And what type of lights I should buy for the room.  I have 3a" halogen lights in the room now.  Would be perfect if there are replaced bulbs available, but I'll replace the lights totally if need be.

I'll be in the space a long time so I'm trying to create a great working envirnment before I prurchase monitor calibratoin software.

Many thanks for the input!

Have a lok at special light bulbs from [a href=\"http://www.solux.net/]SoLux[/url]. Makes proofing your prints a lot more predictable.
