Beautiful, Rob.
Thanks, Eric.
That was the only period that Ann had short hair.
When I met her in school she had a "Veronica Lake" style, and I think the short cut was a sort of reaction, a spiritual clearing of the decks for the wedding and then the period during which our daughter came along. After that, the decks stayed clean as ever, but the tresses were allowed to grow, thank goodness!
Seventeen years later, both ladies had the same long hair, and you couldn't tell who was driving the car - until it came up the drive and so did the soundtrack. Ann didn't like music when she drove.
Them wuz the days...
We did have a dog at the time, a small fox-like creature that lasted fourteen years and climbed the laurel bushes after sticks I'd throw. Not a fib, a fact. My daughter has some snaps...
Funny thing: though the little pooch lasted all that time, the memories are all of the next one, the big Alsabrador we brought out to Spain with us. The small dog was independent as a cat; the big one was like a child and wouldn't dream of letting us out of sight.
