Spring Merced River Canyon
« on: April 10, 2017, 09:08:32 am »

Spring is happening just west of Yosemite along the Merced River Canyon. The first image I took on Friday while walking up the trail behind my home in El Portal.  Unfortunately, because HWY 120 is still closed, the traffic on HWY 140 is terrible.  Even on Sunday, the delays into Yosemite are quite long.

How's access to lower valley sites during the week days and has the valley also started to bloom?

I was in the valley on Saturday (4/8), came in on the 41 around 9:30am and drove right up to the entrance station. The Dogwoods looked like they will be blooming a week or two later this year with the cold/wet weather.  :)
