Michael, Get Well Soon
« on: August 07, 2006, 07:46:59 am »

Reading the Lightroom Adventure blog on O'Reilly website I found the following:

PS. The adventure opened with the drama of Michael Reichmann and Chris Sanderson’s circuitous flight to Iceland. Well, it ends on more drama. Reichmann collapsed just before the Friday night party. He spent all day Saturday in a Reykjavik hospital where extensive testing determined he was ok, just exhausted and battered from a grueling week of 14 hour drives and sleepless nights. We were all relieved and wish him a speedy recovery. Personally, I’m very grateful for everything Reichmann did to make this adventure happen, and his tireless efforts while he was here.

Get plenty of rest and take it easy!

Update: The what's new page now relates the story.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Perhaps you should take a holiday from your travels for a bit. Stay home for a few weeks, perhaps even lay off the website. (Well perhaps not that   )

Wishing you a speedy recovery Michael!

I'll second the true  vacation advice, no camera within 100 feet, no internet connection!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm at the Hilton at Logan airport waiting for my flight home to Toronto, after being screwed again by the incompetence of American Airlines.

I am feeling better each day, and certainly looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.

My plans are to spend the rest of August relaxing at my place in the country. Swimming, having BBQ's and reading a few good books.

Cheers to all.

FWIW the Baroque Cycle trilogy by Neal Stephenson (Starting with Quicksilver) is excellent.

Michael,

Betty and I join all the othes in wishing you a speedy recovery and your place in the country sounds like just the ticket.

Ironically, I had found myself wondering while commuting to work how you were enduring that schedule you had going on while in Iceland. I was starting to grow very envious of your energy, only then to hear (or read) of your difficulties. Maybe you are just a mortal human after all.

Take care, rest well, and send our thanks to Chris for looking after you. He's probably a bit frazzeled too after trying to keep up with you. Sometimes I think we all try to do too much in pursuit of our images.

This sheds a new light on the great photographs you manage on your trips, Michael.

Long hours are not news to most photographers, but there's more to it when Michael R is traveling.  It's one thing to ferret out great shots, but another altogether to do so while managing an enterprise and a large party as well.

Rest well!

Well, it's no wonder you got Labrynthitis!!! what with all the aMAZing shots you get out there!!

Get it??

First I thought they would have to remove part of your rear hoof and then I reread the post.

Relax and just shoot stuff from the back porch of your country cottage.  That's it... the next CD will be called  "Shooting While Recovering.

Ok... I'm done, now.

Michael,
Hope you have a speedy recovery and no recurrence of the problems. I guess you'll have to cut out the fine wine for a few days   .

Damn that's hard to do!

I always have trouble sleeping the first night in a new place, especially in a tent.  I find half a dose of an over-the-counter sleep aid keeps me from sleeplessness and exhaustion.  I never travel without it!

Wish you a fast recovery
