Looking for bunch of "empty" Epson 9900 700ml cartridges
« on: April 04, 2017, 09:39:21 pm »

I saw that Epson 9900 ink cartridges reported as empty still have 20% left in them.  I'd like to try combining ink from several "empty" cartridges, partly as a project to see if it can be done, and partly to save some money.  I've unfortunately been throwing mine out.   :'(

Please PM me with what you have, if you have a bunch of 700ml cartridges around that report as empty.  I'd like to stick with cartridges that have time before they're expired, or else I'd just save the hassle and buy cheap expired cartridges.

I'd be willing to pay a few dollars per cartridge, and cover the shipping of course.

Don't rely on that video it is awful! Other then to show remaining ink the guy hasn't a clue. I believe he is cutting some open when he gets the low warning. Have never gotten near 20%, closer to 5% to 10%.
Do not cut them open it is not necessary. All you have to do is suction the ink out of the carts with a syringe then insert it into the refillables which is easily accomplished. You can only pull ink out of the OEM carts you cannot reinsert.
You do have to get a refillable set and for the 9900 it is $300+
You will find some not expired carts but most will be expired or close to it.
We maintain an inventory of about 10,000 ml all harvested in this fashion.
