Fujifilm x-t20
« on: April 04, 2017, 01:31:38 am »

Hi,
I am just getting back into photography after a 30 year hiatus. I purchased a Fujifilm X-T20 with 18-55 and 55-200 zoom. It appears that products like Capture One don't recognize the raw format. What are people using to unload and edit these files? The software from Fuji doesn't offer much.

You're right, C1 does not yet support the X-T20. You can check for that here:

https://www.phaseone.com/en/Products/Software/Capture-One-Pro/Supported-Cameras.aspx?

Phase One will support most cameras, but they are not usually first with that support. Maybe they are just slow, or maybe they spend the extra time to do a better job. Sometimes Lightroom will have an early update and early support, but come back later with more updates to improve that initial support.

That said, Lightroom is very frequently used as a RAW workflow tool.

Lightroom has supported it for a month or so - see here.

CaptureOne will probably support XT20 files soon, but for Fuji files "support" is incomplete. It still fails to read the compressed raw files from other current Fuji models - the XPro2 has been out for a year, the XT2 for 6 months. That's unacceptable.
