Advice Trouble Epson SC-7000 paper sheet: No paper Detected!
« on: March 31, 2017, 09:59:07 pm »

Hello,

So far i have been printing with paper rolls, no problems.  I have just switch to print on sheets : Epson Hot Press Bright.
1 - Switch the printer to sheet,
2 - select Velvet Fine Art paper type
3 - Insert Sheet, press down arrow.  Paper goes down a bit, printer ask to confirm paper type
4 - As soon as i press ok to confirm current paper type (velvet fine art), print says No Paper detected

Note that paper size check and paper skew check are both enabled.
I did print sheets 2 months back, had no problem then!
I might be doing something wrong but cannot figure it out!

If i disable paper size check, i don't get the error, but further down the line, the printer behaves as if the size sent by LightRoom is incorrect!, so not a solution for now.  In any case, it should work as advertised. No?

Thanks in advance for your help
André

:)
Problem resolved.  I was printing on a sheet that had, on the lead edge, some area already printed (very dark Grey scale, from a 3880 printer).   This seems to confuse the printer no end.   it thinks there is no paper underneath the head, and doesn't even try to move the paper to find the leading edge.   If i insert a blank sheet, it works...
