I have been photographing spring in the rainforest on Vancouver Island for 8 years. The timing is crucial to get the right balance between the rich vibrant spring moss and the maple trees not leafing out. Once the maples leaf out the forest gets very dark.
This is not an easy place to shoot, the forest is extreme chaos. It is a composition challenge, and it takes a long time to find a spot to setup your tripod. The ground is very uneven, which makes it tough just getting around in the forest.
I hope you find these images interesting and get a sense for the challenge of photographing in a rainforest.
