Light Leak
« on: March 28, 2017, 10:33:06 am »

Hi all.  I recently acquired a 503cw which cosmetically is in very nice shape.  Ive shot and developed a few rolls through it.  Most recently a couple of negatives came back with a  streak coming from the left side, looking identical and coming in from the same angle.  At first I thought it might be flare as the direction of the sun was coming in at 45 degrees from that angle, but it hasnt affected all of these frames. Furthermore, one negative (not shown) from another roll has the same issue, but the lighting is coming in from  different angle. Can anyone identify the cause or had experience with this issue? Thanks

Most likely the light trap in the film back (where the dark slide inserts) needs to be replaced. If you are in the US contact David Odess for assistance with the repair. Otherwise it's a straightforward fix that a local technician with familiarity with the system can take care of.  Or browse the web and do it yourself if you're handy this way.

Good luck!
