Thingeyrakirkja, Iceland
« on: March 27, 2017, 07:51:51 pm »

I was going to call this "God's Country", but I'm not really into cutesy/kitschy titles. Besides, despite the iconic nature of some many of Iceland's churches and churchyards, the vast majority of Icelanders are not religious.

C & C please.

Beautiful image.

While Terry is right about their religiosity, this particular church has historical and cultural significance to Icelanders.

Very nice image with a balanced composition and good light/exposure.
I love that the people of Iceland can keep their appreciation of the history and cultural significance of their churches while also fully embracing the new age of reason. So practical!
