A few days ago in another thread a fellow was trying to find a source for the Bill Atkinson Printer Test File, to which I replied as follows: "If you'll get in touch with me personally I can send you this file, full resolution. I've had it for many years and use it frequently. I also have and use the Outback file, they are both very good for their purpose". Shortly after my reply I received an email from Mark Segal which served to reboot my memory concerning the aforementioned Image File. I have a great deal of respect for Mark and his views, as well as his contributions to this site. Mark and I have previously decided to get together at some point in Toronto and have an actual face to face conversation, something I am very much looking forward to, since Mark and I live in rather close proximity. Following is the email I received from Mark after he read my offer; "I could have done the same of course, but I didn't offer because the file is proprietary and as such Bill is within his rights to permit its distribution as he deems appropriate. He pulled it from his website years ago. Who knows why, but I took that to mean he didn't want to share it openly any longer. When you see me using it in articles, it is because we got his permission". As it had been many years since I originally downloaded that file, the fact that it was indeed proprietary had completely slipped my mind, and I thank Mark for the reminder.
Now to the "NOTICE". Since I posted that offer I have received several emails asking for a copy of the file, to which I have replied and apologized for my mistake. I will now state, unequivocally, that I WILL NOT BE FORWARDING THE BILL ATKINSON PRINTER TEST FILE TO ANYONE AT ANYTIME!
