Best time to shoot Badwater Basin in DV
« on: March 25, 2017, 11:48:34 pm »

I have spent a few days in DV with one of my desired outcomes being to get a few good shots of Badwater Basin.  I have been challenged to find a good clean surface area of the basin that photographs well.  Anyone know when the best time to do this is?

Thanks, Dal

I assume that by "good clean surface" you are referring to the salt polygons, and that you prefer them white, smooth, and short rather than rough and with tall edges. Those conditions will occur when they are newly formed, after the Badwater Basin has been flooded. The time when Badwater is most likely to be flooded is during the rain season in winter.

Yes, I was looking to find the salt polygons.  I walked for a number of miles on the Basin with no luck finding anything suitable.  Thanks for the reply.
