Another one from yesterday and the great softbox in the sky.

I like the shot. I wish the legs of the bench were not cropped out. In accordance with my obsession with geometry, I'd crop off a bit on the right frame, so it may end up being closer to a 1:1 aspect ratio.

This is a pleasing image. The subject, setting, color, light, and the mood harmonize. As Sarkowski may have put it, "It's a window."

By the way, the light through the trees in the upper 4th of the frame add a lot to the scene.

The bench bothers me too and, though BobDavid's idea about more foreground might help, if practical I would go back and shoot a pano with the same top and sides as this shot, but just including the top half of the bench and the other side of the ditch.  I find this side of the ditch less fun.  Oh, and get the light to be as good as this too.

Piece of cake, eh guys? First, I need another day with the great softbox in the sky. But if I go back for a repeat of this picture -- which is quite possible -- I'll line up more carefully behind the center of the bench. This was a sort of offhand walk-by shot that I later realized I liked. But it's slightly cocked. I don't agree about cropping the right side of the frame. I like the bright moss bunches hanging out there. Bob's right. It needs more foreground -- not much, but some. But if I include more of the foreground, Bruce, how can I confine the shot to just the top of the bench? If you can explain it to me I'll try to write a treatise on that trick.

Yeah, I like the moss on the right too.

If you get back there, the scene will tell you what to do.

Next time I'll take the D800 and a tripod.
