Color of the SONY A7 R

I am playing with a SONY A7 R for the first time and although the resolution is stellar, the color seems drab - somewhat lifeless - at least when compa red to the Canon 5d Mark 2.

Is there an adjustment to get the rich color that I am used to or is it just a sensor bias to be modified in Lightroom?

I just took some outdoor test shots using the default Daylight WB setting.

What profile did you use to process the image. I have no problems getting vibrant colours out of my A7R. Show us examples.

Funny... the reason aside from body and menu not being to my taste that I did not go with Sony was because the files looked too closely to the 5d mk2.  I felt the output was very similar. And I didn't gain anything that wowed me.  I was getting a very similar file to the canons...just with somewhat better shadows and latitude. (Obviously a more modern sensor)

When I switched from the 5d2 to the A7R the biggest changes in the image was the much improved dynamic range, the higher resolution and the better sharpness of the Sony images. All 3 were major improvements over the 5d2.

ASP with Lr at default settings is biased slightly towards oversaturation with the a7RII:

I have noticed no color differences between the a7R and a7RII, although they may exist.

You can tweak the Lr default settings, or pick other profiles. Or both.

You didn't see the higher resolution?

Resolution is one of the last priorities for me to be honest.  It is always nice to have more...but it won't make or break a camera for me.

What? Are you shooting RAW? What lens? What ISO? Auto WB? Monitor calibrated?

Sony A7r II RAW files look a lot better when developed in CaptureOne. The difference between C1 and ACR is significant. The A7r II includes C1 Express and an upgrade to C1 Pro (for Sony) is only $50. I was blown away after comparing the results.
