Simple question; is the circle of confusion for an X-T2 the same as it is for an X-T1?
Thanks in advance, Jonathan

Isn't circle of confusion a term associated with lens resolution?

Is the sensor size the same?
Correct, yes it is almost the same. That means that the Circle of confusion for a given output size is constant (same output magnification). Resolution in the sharpest parts of the image, i.e. the zone of optimal focus, will be higher on the sensor with more sensor elements, but the limits of the DOF-zone will be virtually identical (give or take some effects on MTF due to the denser sampling of the X-T2).
Cheers,
Bart

Thanks Bart. I was just looking for confirmation that as they are the same size sensor, but with different pixel counts, then the circle of confusion will be the same when calculating hyperfocal distances and depths of field.
